Scott Bunz '89

Scott Bunz, BHS ’89, credits teacher Gary Sather for making history class engaging and memorable. From hitting the game-winning shot against Mount Michael to building a career in agricultural trading, Scott’s time at Bennington taught him the value of community, teamwork, and seizing every opportunity. Today, as VP of Trading for JST Global, he draws lessons from his high school experience encouraging students to get involved in an organization or sport, noting its just as important as good grades.

How did your education/experience at BHS prepare you for your life after graduation?

Bennington was still a small town during my time, and there was a great sense of community that supported the high school. That has stuck with me the rest of my life.

Advice for current students?

Take advantage of every opportunity to join an organization or play sports in high school. Those activities are just as important getting good grades.
