Alumni Stories That Inspire

Intriguing. Inspiring. Diverse. Our alumni have some of the most fascinating stories to tell and we are always honored to share their accomplishments and achievements. We hope you find inspiration in the stories we tell here.

Do you have a story you’d like to share?

We first started dating in Fall of 2011 as a Sophomore & Junior in High School. We had always known each other, but never really talked much. Ms. Bieber was lucky enough to have us both in Journalism together & as my favorite teacher, she knew enough & decided to help speed up fate and assign us the Girls Varsity Basketball Yearbook spread as partners.

They were always friends, but their love story really began in high school when Ryan asked Lori to Junior Prom. From that first date on, they have been together ever since.

Seth and I met freshman year of high school in study hall. At the time there was an app called “Fun Run” where a group of us used our time very wisely and raced each other the entire study hall...

Scott Bunz, BHS ’89, credits teacher Gary Sather for making history class engaging and memorable. From hitting the game-winning shot against Mount Michael to building a career in agricultural trading, Scott’s time at Bennington taught him the value of community, teamwork, and seizing every opportunity.

Raquel Beltzner, BHS grad from 2018, credits Mr. Deardoff, her favorite teacher, for his genuine compassion and dedication to his students. His support and the sense of community at BHS gave Raquel the confidence to step outside her comfort zone, explore the world, and pursue her dreams.
