POTTERY WHEEL THROWING FURTHER PERSONALIZES EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

BMS Art Teacher Amy Blanchard at pottery wheel throwing class.

Bennington Middle School Art Teacher Amy Blanchard sought to expand personalized educational opportunities for 8th grade art students in pottery wheel throwing.

Through the Foundation’s Classroom Grant, Blanchard was able to do just that by completing a 6-week course in pottery making during the Summer of 2023.

“I can’t wait to teach my students these new basic to advanced wheel throwing techniques,” said Blanchard, “By sharpening up my skills I am better equipped to personalize educational opportunities for them to meet our learning objectives, which is a goal of the District.”

Blanchard’s professional development will directly impact approximately 85 plus students this year and for years to come.
