18 Bennington Families “Adopted” for the Holidays

18 Bennington families were ‘adopted’ this holiday season through the ‘Adopt a Family’ project, organized by Candi DeLancey.

Each year DeLancey seeks out donations from local businesses, organizations, and Bennington Public Schools staff, clubs and activities to provide for Bennington who are in need of a little extra support during the holiday season. Families receive a wide range of gifts based on their needs from basic household essentials, to clothes to toys.

“Our community is absolutely amazing!,” said DeLancey, “I can’t thank everyone enough for reaching out and offering to help others in our community for the holidays! This year, we doubled up on a few families due to the amount of family members. Thank you all for making a difference for others!”

Thank you to 20+ anonymous community members and several groups for graciously supporting these families this year:

  • Bennington Jaycees – 3 families
  • Bennington Public Schools District – 1 family
  • BHS Boys Basketball Team
  • BHS Girls Basketball Team
  • BHS Varsity Cheer Team

Special thank you to Candi for organizing this project year after year.
