Student & Family Influence

Row of colored pencils.

Students' basic needs must be met in order for them to succeed.

From providing basic essentials to scholarships we aim to help students to fully concentrate on and strive for academic success through the following programming:

  • We offer merit-based scholarships for graduating seniors and connect them with local community organization scholarships to aid them in their pursuit of post-secondary education. The online application process is simple and streamlined, enabling seniors to apply for 30+ Foundation and Community funded scholarships with one form. Since 1998, the Foundation has awarded over $600,000 to graduating seniors.

  • Assists students in meeting immediate and basic needs, to ensure that their physical, social and emotional needs do not stand in the way of their success in school. This program helps fill these needs when unmet by any other source. Since the program's inception in 2014, the Foundation has made a $40,000 impact on a number of students in Bennington.

  • Through collaboration with BPS District and local organizations, the Foundation provides funding to bring information and resources to students and families on relevant issues that affect their school or personal lives, family relationships and emotional wellbeing.

  • Four days a week, the Foundation pays teachers to assist students before and after school with academics. Students can be assigned to it or drop in if they need extra help. Student academic achievement is impacted by over 700 hours each year at the middle and high school level.
